Shri Santosh Mallick (Dhrupad Vocalist)

One of the oldest tradition of musician since 18th century, the Dhrupad tradition of Darbhanga and the Mallick family they both are one and the same thing , born in 1978 Shri Santosh Kumar Mallick belongs to the illustrious musical family of Darbhanga Gharana(Mallick Gharana) and represents the 13th generation of this musical lineage. His training in Dhrupad started at an early age under the guidance of his guru and father Padma Shri Pt. Ram Kumar Mallick, a renowned Indian Classical Vocalist. He has also been trained from his uncle Pt. Prem Kumar Mallick , a renowned Indian Classical Vocalist . He had privilege to learn from his Grandfather & Pt. Vidur Mallick , world renowned Dhrupad Legend .

He was awarded Maharshi Award by Maharshi Gandharv Ved Vishwa Vidya Peeth in 1996, as well as National Scholarship by the Ministry of Culture for the period of two years 2003 – 04. He has completed Sangeet Prabhakar from Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Allahabad with first Division in the year 2007 as well as Sangeet Bhaskar from Prachin Kala Kendra, Chandigarh with first Division in the year 2009.

He is a regular broadcaster of All India Radio and Television and is a well-known "B" High Grade Artist of AIR & TV in Dhrupad and has successfully performed at many prestigious music festivals all over India such as :
